Frequently Asked Questions
about Hiring Michael

What Kinds of Magic does Michael Perform?

Michael performs three kinds of shows:

  1. Mingling Magic

  2. Close-Up Show

  3. Stage Show

Mingling Magic is a more casual kind of show that happens during a reception, cocktail hour, or while guests are simply enjoying a party. Michael walks through the crowd, entertaining small groups at a time performing magic up close and personal. Mingling magic is a great way to soften the beginning of an event as guests are trickling it. It’s perfect for getting people who don’t know each other as well to strike up conversation. It can help make waiting in a line to get in the most fun part of an event. It’s also just a great way to make your event feel more up scale.

A Close Up Show is a more formal show for between five and 30 people. Guests sit around a table and watch Michael perform intricate impossibilities from just inches away. The guests are so close they are fully part of the show! A Close Up show is a fantastic way to treat your VIP clients to something special or to entertain at a private party in your home. These shows generally last between 30 to 45 minutes.

Michael’s Stage Show can be the centerpiece of your corporate event, entertaining 20-2000 guests. This is perfect for corporate holiday parties, all hands, a client conference, or an award banquet. Michael’s shows are always interactive, getting people from the audience involved making choices, participating, and having a blast. Michael always make sure everyone—on stage and off—has an amazing time and goes home excitedly describing the experience to anyone and everyone.

How Much Does it Cost to Hire Michael?

Michael’s rate for performing magic at private parties and corporate events usually ranges between $1,000 and $3,000, depending on the type of performance, the type of events, and where your event takes place. Michael charges by the show, not by the minute or hour, so he’ll stick around to make sure everyone who wants to see magic gets to, and all your guests will be talking about your event for years.

Where does Michael Perform?

Michael is based in the San Francisco Bay Area. He most often performs in San Francisco, Oakland, and Berkeley, but often travels down to San Jose or up to Sacramento to bring his particular brand of magic, delight, and wit to private parties and corporate events. He also regularly travels to Los Angeles, San Diego, Chicago, and New York.

Why Hire Michael?

When you hire Michael, people remember your party.

Seriously, they won’t stop talking about it.

Michael is one of the country’s most creative and astonishing magicians, having published 3 best-selling books of original magic tricks, and performed an original illusion on TV for Penn & Teller: Fool Us. But Michael’s magic is not just about tricks. it’s about creating unforgettable experiences. He understands the power of storytelling and uses it to weave narratives that captivate and engage sophisticated audiences. Before his career as a magician launched, he spent more than 10 years working in the tech and legal worlds, so he’s intimately familiar being on both sides of corporate parties and is uniquely suited to helping you make sure people love being at your event!
